Now You Can Create Your Own Quiz and Share It With Friends
We've had over 690 quizzes on Quizzy for a while now, covering everything from world capitals to shark facts to the complete filmography of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But there was always one thing missing: a way for you to create your own quiz. That changes today.
Our Quiz Creator is live, it's free, and it requires absolutely no signup. You write the questions, pick the answers, and get a shareable link in minutes. Whether you're building a trivia night for friends, a study tool for your class, or a "How well do you really know me?" quiz for your group chat, the tool is ready for you.
How It Works
We designed the quiz creator to be as simple as possible. Here's the process from start to finish:
- Give your quiz a title. Something catchy works best. "Ultimate 90s Movie Trivia" beats "Quiz 1" every time.
- Add your questions. Write a question, provide four answer options, and select which one is correct. Repeat until you're satisfied.
- Generate your quiz. Hit the create button and you'll get a unique, shareable link to your quiz.
- Share it. Send the link to friends, post it on social media, drop it in your group chat, or embed it wherever you want.
That's it. No accounts, no email verification, no "free trial" that expires after three quizzes. Just a straightforward tool that does what it says.
Ideas for Your First Quiz
Not sure what to make? Here are some ideas that have worked well for other quiz creators across the internet:
For Friend Groups
Build a "How well do you know our friend group?" quiz with inside jokes and shared memories. Who remembers the name of the restaurant from that disastrous road trip? What was the first movie you all watched together? These quizzes tend to go viral within friend circles because everyone wants to prove they're the most attentive friend.
For Trivia Nights
Hosting a trivia night at home or at a bar? Instead of scribbling questions on index cards, build your rounds as Quizzy quizzes. Everyone can play on their phone, answers are scored automatically, and you don't have to argue about whether someone's handwriting says "Eisenhower" or "Eisenflower." Need inspiration for question style? Check out our General Knowledge Quiz to see how we structure ours.
For Classrooms and Study Groups
Teachers and students have been using quiz tools as study aids for years, but most of them are bloated with features you don't need and paywalls you don't want. Our creator gives you a clean, focused quiz that works on any device. Build a practice test for your study group or create a review quiz for your students before exam week.
For Events and Icebreakers
Running a work event, a wedding reception, or a family reunion? A custom quiz is a perfect icebreaker. Create questions about the company, the couple, or the family and watch people get competitive. Nothing brings people together like a friendly argument about whether Aunt Linda actually ran a marathon in 1997.
What Makes a Great Quiz?
After building hundreds of quizzes for this site, we've learned a few things about what makes a quiz genuinely fun versus forgettable:
- Mix difficulty levels. Start with a few easy questions to build confidence, ramp up the difficulty in the middle, and end with a satisfying mix. Nobody likes getting crushed from question one.
- Make wrong answers plausible. The best wrong answers are ones that sound like they could be right. If three options are obviously wrong, the quiz feels too easy even when someone gets the right answer.
- Keep questions concise. The question should be clear and readable in a few seconds. Save the context for the answer explanations.
- Include some surprises. A question where the correct answer is genuinely unexpected is the kind people talk about afterward.
If you want to see these principles in action, try our Coffee Knowledge Quiz or our World Capitals Quiz. They're good examples of quizzes that balance challenge with fun.
Why We Built This
Quizzy started as a collection of handcrafted quizzes on topics we found interesting. But the more we built, the more we heard the same request: "Can I make my own?" People wanted to quiz their friends on niche topics. Teachers wanted custom study aids. Trivia hosts wanted an easier way to run their events.
Most quiz makers on the market are either too complicated (enterprise software disguised as a quiz tool), too expensive (pay-per-response pricing), or too ugly (templates from 2008). We wanted something that felt like Quizzy: clean, fast, fun, and free.
The best quiz is the one someone actually wants to take. Keep it fun, keep it sharp, and people will share it for you.
Coming Soon
This is version one of the quiz creator, and we're already working on what's next. On our roadmap: image-based questions, timed quiz modes, leaderboards so friends can compete for high scores, and the ability to organize your quizzes into collections. If you have ideas for features you'd like to see, we're all ears.
For now, though, the basics are solid and ready to go. Head over to the Quiz Creator, build something, and share it with someone who thinks they're smarter than you. Let the quiz settle the debate.
