The Great Wildebeest Migration involves roughly 1.5 million wildebeest traveling between Tanzania's Serengeti and Kenya's Maasai Mara each year. East Africa is a land of extraordinary contrasts — from the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro to the depths of the Great Rift Valley and the vast expanse of Lake Victoria.
Each round presents 10 randomized multiple-choice questions drawn from a pool of 50, so every playthrough is different. You get instant feedback with explanations after each answer, plus a shareable score at the end.
You'll discover the nations of East Africa, the Great Rift Valley, Mount Kilimanjaro, the Great Migration, Lake Victoria and the source of the Nile, Ethiopia's ancient history and unique calendar, the Maasai people and Swahili culture, Rwanda's mountain gorillas, and the region's remarkable biodiversity.
Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania stands at 5,895 meters (19,341 feet), making it the tallest mountain in Africa and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. It is a dormant volcano with three volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira.
Ethiopia is the only East African country (and one of only two in all of Africa, alongside Liberia) that was never formally colonized. It was briefly occupied by Italy from 1936 to 1941, but this is not considered colonization as it was never internationally recognized.
The Great Wildebeest Migration is the annual circular movement of roughly 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebras, and 350,000 gazelles between Tanzania's Serengeti and Kenya's Maasai Mara. It is considered one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth.
