Norway Quiz 🇳🇴

Fjords, Vikings, and the Northern Lights — how well do you know Norway?

Norway Quiz: Test Your Knowledge of the Land of the Midnight Sun

Norway manages the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, valued at over $1.7 trillion — built almost entirely from North Sea oil revenues. But there's far more to this Scandinavian kingdom than petroleum. Stretching from the North Sea to the Arctic Ocean, Norway boasts some of Earth's most dramatic landscapes: deep fjords carved by ancient glaciers, the dancing Northern Lights, and the midnight sun that never sets in summer above the Arctic Circle.

How It Works

Each round presents 10 randomized questions from a pool of 50, with four multiple-choice options and instant feedback after every answer. Your final score comes with a performance tier and shareable results.

What You'll Learn

You'll explore Norway's stunning fjords and Arctic landscapes, Viking history and medieval stave churches, the Sami indigenous culture, world-leading winter sports traditions, the Nobel Peace Prize, Norwegian literary giants like Henrik Ibsen, and modern marvels from the Svalbard Global Seed Vault to record-breaking tunnels.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the midnight sun?

The midnight sun is a natural phenomenon where the sun remains visible at midnight. In northern Norway above the Arctic Circle, the sun does not set for weeks during summer — for example, in Tromsø the midnight sun lasts from late May to late July.

Why is Norway not in the EU?

Norway has held two referendums on EU membership — in 1972 and 1994 — and voters rejected it both times. Concerns over sovereignty, fishing rights, and agricultural policy drove the "no" votes. Norway participates in the European single market through the European Economic Area (EEA) agreement instead.

How were Norway's fjords formed?

Norway's fjords were carved by massive glaciers during successive ice ages over millions of years. As glaciers advanced toward the sea, they eroded deep U-shaped valleys. When the ice melted, seawater flooded these valleys, creating the long, narrow inlets Norway is famous for. Sognefjord, the longest, stretches over 200 kilometers inland.
