Sam Porter Bridges is the playable protagonist of Death Stranding, portrayed by Norman Reedus through voice and motion capture. He is a courier tasked with connecting fractured cities of the UCA via the Chiral Network.
A BB, or Bridge Baby, is a fetus housed in a portable capsule and linked to a brain-dead mother. BBs allow couriers like Sam to detect the ghostly Beached Things (BTs) that haunt the post-Stranding world.
