Created by Alex Beachum from his USC graduate thesis and developed by Mobius Digital, the 2019 game is widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time, winning the 2020 BAFTA Game of the Year. This quiz dives into its solar system, the ancient Nomai civilization, the Stranger DLC, and Andrew Prahlow's haunting score.
Each round presents 10 randomized questions from a pool of 50, with four multiple-choice options and instant feedback after every answer. Your final score comes with a performance tier and shareable results.
You'll explore the Hatchling's solar system from Timber Hearth to Dark Bramble, the secrets of the Ash Twin Project and the Eye of the Universe, the Nomai's tragic fate at the hands of the Interloper, the musicians whose songs you track via the Signalscope, and the ringworld revelations of the Echoes of the Eye DLC.
Outer Wilds was developed by Mobius Digital and published by Annapurna Interactive. The game began as Alex Beachum's USC graduate thesis project before evolving into a full release in 2019.
Each loop lasts 22 minutes, ending when the Sun goes supernova. The Hatchling then awakens back at the Timber Hearth campfire with all knowledge intact but no physical progress.
The Nomai were an ancient four-eyed alien civilization who arrived in the solar system seeking the Eye of the Universe. They perished roughly 281,042 years ago when the Interloper comet brought ghost matter that killed them all.
