Our Best New Quizzes of 2026 (So Far)
Halfway through 2026 already, which feels physically impossible, and yet here we are. It's been a busy six months on Quizzy — new quizzes landing across every category, some of them genuinely some of the best we've ever made. So before the year runs away from us entirely, we're pausing to crown the standouts.
The brief for this list was simple: no two picks from the same corner of the site. We wanted a mid-year sampler you could hand to anyone — the science nerd, the foodie, the TV obsessive, the map fanatic — and have them find their thing. Here are five quizzes from five wildly different worlds that absolutely earned their spot.
The best quiz isn't the one you ace. It's the one where you get something wrong, mutter "wait, really?", and immediately want to tell someone the answer.
1. Science: Black Holes & Dark Matter
If there's one topic guaranteed to make your brain feel both tiny and enormous at once, it's this. Our Black Holes & Dark Matter quiz wanders into event horizons, spaghettification, the stuff that makes up most of the universe and that nobody can actually see. It's the kind of quiz where the wrong answers are almost more fascinating than the right ones. You'll finish it slightly haunted, in a good way. Brave enough? Test yourself →
2. Geography: Japan Deep Dive
Plenty of people can find Japan on a map. Far fewer can name its prefectures, untangle its mountain ranges, or explain why its rail network is the envy of the planet. Our Japan Deep Dive quiz goes well past Tokyo-and-sushi tourism into the real geography of the archipelago — islands, volcanoes, cities, and the quirks that make the country so distinct. It's become one of our most-played country deep dives this year, and for good reason.
3. Food & Drink: Sushi Deep Dive
Speaking of which — staying in Japan but switching plates, our Sushi Deep Dive quiz is the one that'll humble anyone who thinks ordering a spicy tuna roll makes them a connoisseur. Nigiri versus sashimi, the rice that actually matters more than the fish, the etiquette, the regional styles, the history of a food that went global. Take it before your next omakase and tip generously when you realize how much you didn't know.
4. Movies & TV: Severance Season 2
Few shows owned the cultural conversation this year quite like the return of the Lumon saga. If you spent a season theorizing about the severed floor, the goats, and what "the work is mysterious and important" actually means, our Severance Season 2 quiz is your victory lap. It rewards the obsessives who paused, rewound, and screenshotted. Innies and outies alike: this one's for you.
5. History: Vikings Deep Dive
Rounding out the list with something a little older — about a thousand years older. The Norse get flattened in pop culture into horned helmets and raiding, but the real story is richer: traders, explorers, settlers who reached North America centuries before Columbus, and a society far more complex than the cartoon version. Our Vikings Deep Dive quiz separates the history from the Hollywood, and it's one of the most satisfying history quizzes we've published in ages.
A Few That Just Missed the Cut
Narrowing it to five was genuinely painful, because the first half of 2026 was stacked. We left off a wave of excellent country deep dives, a clutch of devious "real or fake" quizzes that have been quietly destroying people's confidence, and several music and art deep dives that would headline any other roundup. The five above won out because together they cover the widest spread of brains — the cosmic, the geographic, the culinary, the pop-cultural, and the historical — so that whoever you hand this list to finds at least one quiz that feels tailor-made for them. If your favorite category didn't make it, don't take it personally; it almost certainly has a deep dive published this year that's every bit as good, just sitting one click away in the nav bar above.
The Mid-Year Verdict
What ties these five together isn't a theme — it's a feeling. Each one teaches you something the moment you get it wrong, which is the whole point of a quiz that's actually worth your time. Run all five back-to-back and you'll have toured the cosmos, a Japanese archipelago, a sushi counter, a sinister office building, and a Norse longship, all before your coffee goes cold.
And the year's only half over. There's a second wave of deep dives, seasonal challenges, and oddball "real or fake" quizzes already in the pipeline for the back half of 2026. So bookmark a couple of these, brag about your scores, and check back — we're just getting warmed up.
